Get to know the city

At the foot of the Carpathians

Brașov is one of Transylvania's great Saxon citadel cities, founded in the 13th century and shaped over centuries by Romanian, Hungarian, and German communities. Its old town sits inside the original walls, with cobbled lanes, painted Baroque facades, and the Black Church (Biserica Neagră) anchoring the central square.

The mountains are part of daily life here. Tâmpa rises directly behind the old town, accessible by cable car, and the Bucegi and Piatra Craiului national parks are within easy reach. Bran Castle, often associated with the Dracula legend, sits 25 kilometres to the southwest.

For patients combining dental treatment with a longer stay, Brașov is one of the more genuinely enjoyable bases in Romania. The pace is slower than Bucharest or Cluj, the food scene leans into mountain traditions, and the city centre is small enough to navigate on foot.

Why Brașov for Dental Work?

A Place You Want to Stay In

Most patients need 7–10 days in Romania across two visits. Brașov is one of the few cities where the days between appointments feel like an actual holiday rather than waiting time.

Brașov-Ghimbav Airport (GHV)

The city's own airport opened for commercial service in 2025, with Wizz Air operating approximately 20 flights daily and the route network expanding. For many Western European patients, Brașov is now a direct destination, not a transfer one.

Wider Flight Choice via Bucharest or Sibiu

For routes not yet served by GHV, Bucharest OTP (around 2.5–3 hours by road) offers the broadest range of international connections, and Sibiu SBZ (around 2.5 hours) suits patients arriving via Lufthansa from Munich or Austrian Airlines from Vienna.

English-Speaking Clinical Teams

At internationally oriented clinics, English is the standard working language. German is also present, reflecting the historic Saxon heritage of the broader Transylvania region.

Full EU Legal Protection

Romania is an EU member state, so EU Directive 2011/24/EU on cross-border healthcare applies. You retain rights to reimbursement and legal recourse under EU consumer law.

My Network Is Expanding Here

I am actively building my Brașov clinic relationships. If you are considering treatment here, contact me early: I will match you with the right clinic and coordinate everything once your plan is confirmed.
